I have been taking classes at SJSD for nine years now. I take sixclasses a week and I am also in Performing Group 4. My favorite classes are modern/lyrical and acrobatics. I assist two acrobatics classes and love being able to teach young childrensomething that I love to do. Outside of the studio I work at Home Depot in Jacksonville Beach and over the summer I am a lifeguard. In my free time I like to go to the beach, workout, and babysit my niece.

Kylie Butts

Hello I’m Kylie Butts and I have been going to Scott Jones School of Dance for 11 years now. Scott Jones School of Dance is an amazing dance studio that I’m very lucky to be apart of. Since, being apart of Scott Jones I have been able to be taught  by some great choreographers like Scott Jones himself. Every class I learn something new whether it’s about my technique, facial expressions, or how to be a good performer.  Being apart of Scott Jones has also helped me get into LaVilla School of the Arts but also LaVilla’s highest dance level block 4 and to be part of the First Coast Nutcracker. It hasn’t just help me to grow as a dancer but also a student by helping me become better at focusing and to have discipline. It’s also helped me accomplish to earn straight A’s.

Burlin Frohock

Hi my name is Burlin Frohock. I’m 12 years old and have been dancing for 7 years at Scott Jones School of Dance. As of right now I’m taking High Heel Tap, Jazz and Modern/Lyrical. I am a part of the Scott Jones School of Dance Performing group. I adore traveling around Florida with my group and seeing the smiles on people’s faces when we perform. I also love our annual recitals and the great shows we put on. We work so hard making not just our teachers proud but also ourselves.
Each and every one of our dance instructors are amazing, but my absolute favorites…hands-down would be Mr. Scott and Jared. I would definitely not be where I am today without their expertise and words of encouragement along the way. They have truly brought out the best in me, not only in dance but also in my personal life. I am thankful for all that they do for me and their dedication to the studio.
When I am not at the studio, I enjoy traveling with my family, having sleepovers, shopping with friends and reading books. I also attend Lavilla School of the Arts where I learn even more about dance and its history. I plan to continue my dancing with hopes of improving along the way

Jaden Shuman

My name is Jaden Shuman.  I am 8 years old and I have been dancing for six years.  I absolutely love it!  Currently I’m taking tap, jazz, and tumbling.  I also love performing all around Jacksonville in the SJSD performing group.   The yearly dance recitals are always the best and I always look forward to demonstrate all our dance moves we have learned throughout the year, not to mention the awesome costumes we get to perform in.

All the dance teachers are wonderful, but if I had to choose my favorite it would be Mr. Scott. He allows me to be fearless in tumbling and is very patient and encouraging when learning difficult dance moves.

When I am not dancing, I attend classes in TaeKwondo.   I am currently a red belt and soon will be testing for my black belt in August.   I often assist with teaching techniques to the beginner belts in our weekly classes and invited to do so in other classes around Jacksonville with my father and sister. I also enjoy gymnastics, swimming, bike riding, arts and crafts, sleepovers, and being with family and friends.
