My name is Amber Barnhart. I attend Douglas Anderson School of the Arts as a dance major. I am an AP/Honor student. I graduate spring of 2019 and plan to go to college for nursing. I have been taking classes at SJSD for nine years now. I take sixclasses a week and I am also in Performing Group 4. My favorite classes are modern/lyrical and acrobatics. I assist two acrobatics classes and love being able to teach young childrensomething that I love to do. Outside of the studio I work at Home Depot in Jacksonville Beach and over the summer I am a lifeguard. In my free time I like to go to the beach, workout, and babysit my niece.
My name is Jaden Shuman. I am 8 years old and I have been dancing for six years. I absolutely love it! Currently I’m taking tap, jazz, and tumbling. I also love performing all around Jacksonville in the SJSD performing group. The yearly dance recitals are always the best and I always look forward to demonstrate all our dance moves we have learned throughout the year, not to mention the awesome costumes we get to perform in.
All the dance teachers are wonderful, but if I had to choose my favorite it would be Mr. Scott. He allows me to be fearless in tumbling and is very patient and encouraging when learning difficult dance moves.
When I am not dancing, I attend classes in TaeKwondo. I am currently a red belt and soon will be testing for my black belt in August. I often assist with teaching techniques to the beginner belts in our weekly classes and invited to do so in other classes around Jacksonville with my father and sister. I also enjoy gymnastics, swimming, bike riding, arts and crafts, sleepovers, and being with family and friends.
